Every year, Special Love welcomes hundreds of pediatric cancer patients, ages 7 to 17, to our camps and adventure programs. Each one provides time away from the hospital and its strict schedules, as well as the pain and isolation that come with cancer treatment. Programs are designed to provide a place to laugh, play, share with new and old friends, and even take a few healthy risks. A place where they can just be kids.
Upcoming Programs for Patients
SLICE (Special Love’s In-hospital Camp Experience) provides kids with a taste of the camp fun even when they’re stuck in the hospital. Children in treatment get a brief break from the doctors and nurses to make all kinds of fun arts & crafts, while their parents learn about the many programs and services Special Love has to offer.
Contact Dave SmithSince the COVID19 pandemic began, Special Love has been providing virtual programming each and every month to keep children and families connected and entertained. Programs included lots of fun, creative arts & crafts projects, dance and yoga, cooking, STEM and STEAM projects, woodworking, robotics, Halloween mask making, a Survivor: North Pole gameshow spoof, and a Thankful Tree project.

Each year, Special Love awards Kay/Moore Educational Scholarships to young adults who have undergone treatment for cancer and are now ready to move past their cancer journey, attend college and trade schools, and live out their dreams for a fruitful future.
Special Love’s young scholarship recipients have endured challenges and heartache during their treatments and move on with their lives by exhibiting great courage and strength. All have determined not to let cancer define them, or limit their futures.
