Young Adult Survivors Retreat

A day spent with other cancer survivors ages 18-40. Young adults ages 15-17 are welcome to attend with an adult present.

Our young adult survivors event is BACK with a refreshed retreat experience! This year’s event brings us to a beautiful new location and features new opportunities to connect, learn, and recharge alongside others who truly understand.

Whether you’re looking to build new friendships, reconnect with familiar faces, gain helpful resources, or simply enjoy a day away, this retreat is designed with you in mind.

Need help getting to the retreat?
Transportation shouldn’t be a barrier to joining us. Uber and Lyft gift cards are available for attendees who need assistance traveling to and from the event. Contact James Bell for more information!

More about our guest speaker:
Hear from a former Special Love camper – Serena Wade! Serena is an Ewing sarcoma survivor, a Registered Art Therapist, and a Behavioral Health Therapist. She was diagnosed at age 12 with metastatic cancer and completed 14 rounds of chemotherapies and 31 days of radiation. Serena’s lifeline during her treatments was art therapy. Because of how impactful it was for her, she went into the mental health field to provide space for others. She currently is working as a therapist for neurodivergent children, teens, and young adults.

More about our Survivor Panel:
Greg Lubin: Grew up in Virginia and was diagnosed with osteosarcoma at the age of 14. During his treatment, he made a Make-A-Wish request to meet the Farrelly Brothers and have the opportunity to be in one of their movies. That experience had a lasting impact on him and inspired Greg to take a chance on pursuing a career in entertainment. Today, Greg resides in Los Angeles, California with his wife of three years, Kacie. Greg works as a producer in film and television at Paul Feig’s production company, Feigco Entertainment / Pretty Dangerous Pictures. His projects include Welcome to Flatch (Fox), The School for Good and Evil (Netflix), A Simple Favor, and The Housemaid. Having experienced firsthand the impact that hope, generosity, and the support of others can have during a difficult time, Greg is passionate about giving back and helping create those same moments of possibility for others.
