Jyothi has been retired for more than two decades in the IT industry working as a software professional in various hands on and leadership roles. The leadership experiences, working with different constituencies that their products served, helps her in her new role as a patient advocate – sharing her voice for the brain tumor community and the pediatric cancer community.
Jyothi has immersed herself in various activities such as participating in Race for Hope to raise funds for NBTS or Head to the Hill, where she joins forces with other patient advocates to push for more legislative action. Furthermore, working with the Wish Kids as Wish Grantor and Wish Ambassador and serving on the Make-A-Wish Mid Atlantic board also has provided her with a platform where she helps children battling critical diseases.
Jyothi has been an integral part of the Special Love community since 2015, when her son, Nitin, first attended Camp Fantastic. Nitin enjoyed four years as a camper and has continued his involvement as a counselor ever since. They both fell in love with Special Love from the first moment they came. Jyothi’s dedication extends far beyond camp. Over the past year, she has volunteered at Parent’s Day, Under 7 Day, and attended our annual Gala. Her efforts at the 2025 Gala were particularly impactful, as she not only secured a big sponsorship but also brought 19 guests to the Gala. Through her generosity of time, energy, and resources, Jyothi has become a valued member of our community.
