What is Camp Fantastic?
Camp Fantastic is our hallmark week-long camp for children ages 7 to 17 who’ve received cancer treatment within the past three years. The magic of Camp Fantastic is best described by one of our young campers: “Camp made everything bad feel good again.” It’s a fun-filled week of swimming, canoeing, horseback riding, marshmallow roasting, campfire singing, pillow fighting – everything a child without cancer enjoy at a traditional camp. By the end of the week, the once-timid troupe of pediatric cancer patients have built a bond so strong that cancer doesn’t stand a chance against it.
"I left camp feeling hopeful that whatever the future held, I could cope and my new friends would support me. I felt I belonged at Special Love."
"One of my favorite memories is of our daughter getting off the bus... she was smiling so big. What a wonderful time!"
"After battling cancer most of my life, I am forever grateful that Camp Fantastic helped me make life-long friends and gave me the confidence to keep fighting the battle.”
All cancer patients ages 7-17 within 5 years of treatment (or within 7 years of a bone marrow transplant) are eligible. Medical care is provided on-site so campers can focus on fun – a ropes course, canoeing, swimming, cooking, sports, and more! Teens have exclusive lodging and programming and 16 and 17-year-olds can participate in our LIT (leaders in training) group.
Special Love’s COVID-19 Policy applies to all in-person programs.
Applications for Camp Fantastic 2025 will be available in March 2025.
