COVID-19 Immunization Policy for Special Love In-Person Program Participants, Volunteers and Visitors
In the interest of health and safety, Special Love has instituted this policy for all participants and attendees at any Special Love in-person program.
The policy follows the recommendations of the Center for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) and is intended to protect the health of the children and families we serve as well as everyone in our community.
This policy will be reviewed and updated from time to time as necessary in response to changes in the latest COVID-19 recommendations from the CDC and/or other health care officials.
> Only fully vaccinated individuals (according to CDC guidelines) will be allowed to participate in Special Love’s in-person programming. This means that each participant and attendee must receive a 2 mRNA (Moderna or Pfizer), 1 adenovirus (J&J), or a single bivalent vaccine administered in September, 2022 or later. This requirement may be waived with a justification letter from the participant’s physician.
> Unvaccinated individuals will not be permitted to participate at any in-person programming event.
> Special Love will require each program participant or attendee to provide a copy of his/her COVID-19 vaccination card at time of registration for any daytime and/or overnight program.
> Special Love will also require a copy of each overnight attendee’s negative COVID-19 rapid home test taken within the 24 hours prior to attending the in-person program.
> Individuals who are only at camp to prepare and serve an outdoor meal will not be required to be vaccinated; however, these volunteers will be required to provide one negative rapid test taken within 24 hours of attendance and to mask if indoor food service will be required.
In order to best protect the health of the children and families we serve, Special Love strongly encourages individuals participating in any in-person event to stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccinations, which includes getting a booster.
Special Love will work with facility personnel where programs are held to ensure that their staffs follow our policy, and the facility is properly cleaned and maintained according to recommended CDC guidelines.
Adherence to these requirements allows our children and families to safely share the joy and support of Special Love programming.
Please contact the Special Love office at 888-930-2707 if you have any questions or concerns regarding this policy.
