On Saturday, May 10th, the rolling hills and open fields of Smokey Glen Farm came alive with laughter, love, and the unmistakable energy of Special Love families reuniting and reconnecting. Summer Family Day 2025 was a joyful gathering for current and future Special Love families—an unforgettable day of fun, friendship, and healing.

From the moment guests arrived, the spirit of community was everywhere. Children and parents alike jumped right into the fun—tie-dyeing pillowcases, zip-lining through the trees, hula-hooping, blowing bubbles, and bouncing to their hearts’ content in the inflatable house. We played baseball, tossed frisbees, and danced under the pavilion to the beats of a live DJ.

Smiles were in no short supply thanks to our face painters, balloon artists, and caricature drawings, which brought extra magic to the day. And of course, no Special Love program would be complete without great food and even greater company—our cookout-style lunch brought everyone together around the picnic tables for a true moment of connection, reflection, and joy.

For many, it was a chance to see old friends from camp. For others, it was a first introduction to the Special Love family. Either way, the conversations flowed—about memories, about courage, and about excitement for Camp Fantastic and BRASS Camp coming up this summer.

Summer Family Day is more than just a fun event—it’s a time for families who have faced the unimaginable to come together in strength and celebration. It’s also a reminder that they are not alone, and that together, we can find moments of light, laughter, and healing.
