BRASS Camp 2024: Back on the Road to Fun and Friendship
After last year’s “relaunch” due to our COVID-induced four-year hiatus from in-person camps, it was great to see our numbers rise closer to pre-pandemic levels with 77 campers and 41 staff – nearly all of whom were siblings and/or past campers.
The week included watery visits to Hawaii and Orlando, a corn-filled stop in Iowa, and a talent-filled engagement in Hollywood. Along the way, there was also plenty of time for swimming, crafts, campfires, paddleboarding, canoeing, and crabbing. The kind folks at Camp Maria in Leonardtown, MD, provided not only delicious food but also enthusiastic smiles.
BRASS Camp (BRothers And SiSters) is a unique experience designed specifically for the siblings of children with cancer. It offers these often-unsung heroes a chance to connect with others who understand their journey, all while enjoying the magic of camp. Siblings can bond, have fun, and simply be kids in a supportive environment created just for them.
BRASS Camp is more than just a getaway—it’s a place for siblings to find their community, to be understood, and to know they are not alone.
