Summer Family Fun Day, June 15, 2019

Summer Family Day 2019 was possible because of incredible sponsors; the 12^th Annual Joan Hisaoka “Make a Difference Gala” and The Yuen Foundation.

Summer Family Day, a new and different version of Reunion Family Weekend, was a success! Our first ever one day program was packed with a lot of fun activities, music, treats and family time. There was so much to offer and share with our families!

The big day took place at Clearbrook Park in Winchester, VA which offers paddle boats on Trout Lake, playgrounds, Volley Ball Court, covered shelters for breakfast and lunch and always a fan favorite, the Pool!   Adding to the day’s excitement Special Love added 8 large inflatables from Five Alarm Fun and ice cream from Mattie’s Soft Serve. Hooked on Hope at Virginia Beach, (started by a camp family), came all the way from Virginia Beach to offer fishing to the kids. Families attended from as far as Richmond, Virginia and Baltimore, Maryland.

As with all Reunion Family Weekends this event was open to all current, past, and bereaved families as well as new families to Special Love.
