National Capital Optimist Club Essay Contest, Due January 15, 2019
Long-time Special Love supporters, the National Capital Optimist Club, are hosting their annual essay contest. They will award 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes to students from across the region. Club level winners will have the opportunity to advance to the District contest and compete for an award of $2,500. Visit their website for more information about contest rules and criteria.
Topic: When All the World’s Problems are Solved, is Optimism Still Necessary?
Rules: Compose a 700-800 word essay around the central topic. All submissions must include an application form.
Eligibility: Youth under the age of 19 as of October 1, 2018 (and not enrolled as a degree seeking student of a post-secondary institution) in the United States, Canada or the Caribbean are encouraged to apply. There is no minimum age.
