Serena is an Ewing sarcoma survivor\, a Registered Art Therapist\, and a Behavioral Health Therapist. She was diagnosed at age 12 with metastatic cancer and completed 14 rounds of chemotherapies and 31 days of radiation. Serena’s lifeline during her treatments was art therapy. Because of how impactful it was for her\, she went into the mental health field to provide space for others. She currently is working as a therapist for neurodivergent children\, teens\, and young adults. \n \nMore about our Survivor Panel:\nGreg Lubin: Grew up in Virginia and was diagnosed with osteosarcoma at the age of 14. During his treatment\, he made a Make-A-Wish request to meet the Farrelly Brothers and have the opportunity to be in one of their movies. That experience had a lasting impact on him and inspired Greg to take a chance on pursuing a career in entertainment. Today\, Greg resides in Los Angeles\, California with his wife of three years\, Kacie. Greg works as a producer in film and television at Paul Feig’s production company\, Feigco Entertainment / Pretty Dangerous Pictures. His projects include Welcome to Flatch (Fox)\, The School for Good and Evil (Netflix)\, A Simple Favor\, and The Housemaid. DESCRIPTION:BRASS Camp (BRothers And SiSters Camp)\nOur annual salute to siblings is back! We’ll convene on July 12-18 at Camp Maria in Leonardtown\, MD\, for a week of fun\, friendship\, and adventure. The venue sits on the edge of Breton Bay (part of the Chesapeake Bay) so fishing\, crabbing\, and canoeing are part of the fun. There’s also a pool for swimming\, campfires\, and loads of sports and crafts. It’s all open to campers 7-17 who have a brother or sister within 5 years of treatment (or 7 years of a bone marrow transplant)\, as well as bereaved siblings. Older teens are eligible to be CITs (counselors-in-training). \nBRASS Camp 2026\nSiblings\, you don’t want to miss BRASS camp. We’ll convene on July 13-19 at Camp Maria in Leonardtown\, MD\, for a week of fun\, friendship\, and adventure. The venue sits on the edge of Breton Bay (part of the Chesapeake Bay) so fishing\, crabbing\, and canoeing are part of the fun. There’s also a pool for swimming\, campfires\, and loads of sports and crafts. It’s all open to campers 7-17 who have a brother or sister within 5 years of treatment (or 7 years of a bone marrow transplant)\, as well as bereaved sibs. DESCRIPTION:Join us and our friends at Shenandoah Valley Discovery Museum on October 23rd at 4:30 p.m!\n\nIn the virtual program\, you will have the opportunity to explore circuits and electricity\, while also using your creativity to make light-up creations using conductive modeling dough. We’ll start the session creating a basic paper circuit using conductive tape and LED’s. DESCRIPTION:Camp Fantastic (for patients/survivors) \nOur hallmark program is a week-long adventure for 7-17 patients and survivors who are within 5 years of treatment (or within 7 years of a bone marrow transplant). Medical care is provided on-site so campers can focus on fun – a ropes course\, canoeing\, swimming\, cooking\, sports\, and more! Teens have exclusive lodging and programming and 16 and 17-year-olds can participate in our LIT (leaders in training) group. \nWhile the details for camp and our precautionary COVID measures are still evolving\, we’re proceeding under the belief that camp in some form will definitely happen. \nAll cancer patients ages 7-17 within 5 years of treatment (or within 7 years of a bone marrow transplant) are eligible. \nSpecial Love’s COVID-19 Policy applies to all in-person programs. \nDownload Registration Packet here!
